About Hiking Scenery

The blogger, Edward Hathway

This is Hiking Scenery, a blog dedicated to the scenery I’ve viewed on many wonderful walks over the years, most of them accessible day walks. I walk mainly in South Eastern Australia and New Zealand’s South Island. Enjoy!

I've posted last week's walk to Bonnum Creek. This is in the news because just a few days after I did this walk somebody went missing on this route, or it looks like they have. My walk to Russel's Needle and along Upper Kangaroo Creek are still outstanding. ... See MoreSee Less

The walk to Bonnum Pic in Nattai National Park is a real classic, with attractive rocky terrain and valley and cliff views in all directions.

Latest walk was one I'd never heard of until just last week, but is one of the best I've done around Sydney. Bonnum Pic in Nattai National Park, about 20-30 minutes form Mittagong in the Southern Highlands. For more experienced bushwalkers. www.facebook.com/share/v/1DJGtfR2qi/ ... See MoreSee Less

Another new Blue Mountains walk for me, although clearly a crowd favourite, including for those overnighting. Pierces Pass to Blue Gum Forest (Grose Valley), with a very short side tri to Rigby Hill at the start. www.facebook.com/share/v/1GfRoutJWr/ ... See MoreSee Less

Another new blog post from back in late May, when I visited Guula Ngulla National Park in the Southern Highlands for the first time: Baldy Billy Peak & Wollondilly River, Guula Ngulla National Park NSW - Hiking Scenery ... See MoreSee Less

Two walks in one in Guula Ngulla National Park, to Baldy Billy Peak for good views, and down to a secluded stretch of the Wollondilly River.

Still catching up on blog posts for recent walks. This one was to Mount Solitary, my first time doing it from the east through Kedumba Valley. Back in late May. ... See MoreSee Less

Mount Solitary via Kedumba Valley is a good work out with varied scenery as you descend into the valley then climb to The Col for views.
