There are good views of the Budawangs to be had at the turnaround point of this 2-3 hour walk, Rusden Head. Much of the walking is along a fire trail, which can be a bit monotonous. Nevertheless, worth it if you want access to views on a straightforward walk. Or if like us if you’ve already done walks in the area (eg, the nearby Mount Bushwalker Track) and want to do something different .
Track Notes
It’s a pretty simple walk with only one signposted junction. Track notes can be found in Take a Walk in Southern NSW & the ACT and Take a Walk in Southern NSW & the ACT and on a website I just discovered today, Australian Hiker. You start off on the Little Forest Walking Track, then the trail to Rusden Head (right, and another to Florance Head) are signposted. On the way back we visited Little Forest Trig on a very short side trip.
