A follower/ee on Instagram identified these flowers for me: "...bidibids (Maori piripiri) When the seeds ripen they hook onto clothing, leg hair etc.". After reading this I realised that I have a jokey picture of these seeds stuck to my shirt from a few years earlier.

A false summit here that is somewhat camouflaged in my other photos. The actual summit is bit further on and is less pointy. You might be able to see Sophia to the right of some rocks on the upper right of the picture.
Lake Hope Viewpoint Route, Hector Mountains
A waterfall on Wye Creek South Branch that we came across when looking unsuccessfully for the route up the creek. This would make a worthwhile side trip. After crossing the creek on man made infrastructure just keep to the left as you follow climber's tracks up the hill a bit, and after passing through a few bushes/trees you emerge at the waterfall.

Nice native forest on the lower slopes makes the One Mile Track my favourite route up to either Ben Lomond or Bowen Peak.
