Taken on the Great Alpine Road at the highest point, about 1840m). Looking from left to right there's The Razorback ridge and Mt Feathertop (at the back).

From near the summit. To the left are rocks hinting at the more rugged east face of Mt Feathertop.

Mt Feathertop via Bungalow Spur, Alpine NP
Snow gums grow at the highest altitudes of any Australian trees, and recover very slowly from fire. These trees are slowly regrowing from their base.
Mt Feathertop via Bungalow Spur, Alpine NP
The Razorback Ridge (at about 1600-1750m of elevation) connects the Great Alpine Way (road) with Mt Feathertop. This is the easiest way to climb the mountain, and because it's mostly above the treeline the views are good apparently.
The Big Walk, Mt Buffalo NP

After sundown.

Mount Howitt, Mount Magdala & Crosscut Saw, Alpine National Park
I had always wanted to photograph one of these cloud waterfalls, but never had the chance, until this trip, when there were three! These were falling over saddles on Crosscut Saw. We climbed along there the next day.
Cathedral Ranges Southern Circuit, Victoria
There was quite a relaxed lizard sunning itself next to us as we had lunch.
The Big Walk, Mt Buffalo NP

Looking south-west along a series of peaks from Mount Howitt West Peak.
Mount Howitt, Mount Magdala & Crosscut Saw, Alpine National Park
Crosscut Saw. We climbed this the next day. Really getting dark now. I relied on my camera and photo software to lighten this up.
Mount Howitt, Mount Magdala & Crosscut Saw, Alpine National Park
Wider angle on that sunset view with 'cloudfalls'.
Mt Bogong ascent, Victoria
I liked the skeletal form of these fire damaged trees.
Mt Stapylton Track, Grampians NP
Descending, looking east. We got a bit lost on the way up the gorge you can see in this photo, continuing up it and failing to take a left onto the rocks where Sophia is standing.
Mt Bogong ascent, Victoria
This view a very short deviation off the main track near the top of Staircase Spur.
Mt Zero Track, Grampians NP
Mt Stapylton and Flat Rock.

Mount Howitt, Mount Magdala & Crosscut Saw, Alpine National Park
Sunset behind Mt Buller (1805m, and home to a ski field), Mount Howitt West Peak to the left in the foreground. We had visited there earlier in the day.
Mt Bogong ascent, Victoria
I walked a little off track to get this shot, keeping to rock as much as possible to avoid trampling fragile alpine plants.
Mount Howitt, Mount Magdala & Crosscut Saw, Alpine National Park
The light was all over the place but I finally got some sunlight on the cliffs around Mt Howitt and Big Hill, viewed from the approach to Mount Magdala.
The Hump Track, Mt Buffalo NP
Mt Bogong ascent, Victoria
We met a couple of lizards like this and suspected they were pregnant. They certainly didn't hurry away when approached.
