Royal National Park in Portrait

Curra Moors Circuit, Royal National Park
Rough seas. I'm near the edge of another waterfall into the sea (bottom left).

Jibbon Head Circuit, Royal National Park
There were a lot of these flowers out: Twining Guinea Flower

Bundeena to Marley Head Circuit, Royal National Park
Rocks on Marley Head. The sand dunes and lagoon in the distance.

Bundeena to Marley Head Circuit, Royal National Park
Contrasting colours here with the red of the bottlebrush and the black of the burnt banksia.

Kangaroo Creek Circuit, Royal National Park
I didn't get that early a start but there were still signs of morning on Kangaroo Creek when I first arrived.

The Coast Track, Royal National Park
Not often I get a shot of a Gymea Lily from on top, because they are so tall, but this was growing below a rock ledge.

I've seen this bug before but had to take another picture (or three) because it is so cool. Not sure of the name yet. Let me know if you know.

Kangaroo Creek Circuit, Royal National Park
I like it that nature sometimes creates such neat lines and geometric shapes.

Peach Trees Trig from Audley, Royal National Park
Interesting seed pods. That one top right looks a bit sus to me.

Kangaroo Creek Circuit, Royal National Park
If this wasn't a banksia seed pod, it would be a tightly packed group of darkly roasted coffee beans, or else a lumpy turd.

Peach Trees Trig from Audley, Royal National Park
Angophora costata (I think; Sydney Red Gum, or Smooth Barked Apple). The colours of the bark range from an intense orange to pink-greys. It's one of my favourite trees around Sydney. Edit: after posting this on social media I noticed this trees appears to have a face and is asking for a hug!

Upper Kangaroo Creek Circuit, Royal National Park
I think this is Kangaroo Falls, early on in the walk. Shots from above and below.

So green, except for the tree which makes for nice contrast.

The Coast Track, Royal National Park
Sophia in the palm jungle, posing in a position that I recently photographed her in when doing the Burning Palms portion of this walk. I have limited creativity it seems.

Sophia liked this bark and asked me to take a picture of it. It was in suburbia.

These next few flowers were just in the road side nature strip in suburbia.

Wattamolla to Garie North Head, Royal National Park
An Australasian Darter sunning itself near the weir at Audley. We often visit Audley for coffee on the drive out of the national park.

Wattamolla to Marley Beach Circuit
I was happy with this first attempt at a wildlife shot with my telephoto lens. One of many New Holland Honey Eaters on the track that day.

Wedding Cake Rock still attracts the crowds despite being fenced off as it threatens to fall into the sea. People also still like getting their picture taken on it. It's an interesting landform but like an overplayed song it is losing its interest for me.

Jibbon Head Circuit, Royal National Park
I love flannel flowers. This was a particularly diminutive one.

Jibbon Head Circuit, Royal National Park
This section was hit and slow going in the sand. Atmospheric nevertheless.

Wattamolla to Garie North Head, Royal National Park
These machines used in track construction got caught in the bushfire.

Swordgrass Brown (I've taken pics of these before - must be lots of them).
