This was the first of the larger pools. I had a chat with a young couple at the other end. People walk this far from the other direction to have a swim, so it may be the end of your solitude for the day.

There was something about this particular spot on Kangaroo Creek that gave me the feeling I'd usually get on the top of a mountain, all alone. Perhaps it was because I knew this spot was quite remote, and I didn't meet anyone until I reached the first of the popular swimming holes accessed from the other end of the creek. I also liked the wide open space, and that strange circular hole in the bedrock.

I got lost 2 or 3 times and ended up bush bashing once - this was taken in that section I think, because I'm higher up here than perhaps at any other point in the walk along Kangaroo Creek.
