We were just entering the boulder field here. I think this photo demonstrates the challenge - you can see Sophia about to climb down in amongst the boulders. It was like a 3D labyrinth.

A plover. These birds used to dive bomb me and my school friends as we walked home over the playing fields behind the school. I suspect their nests were nearby and it was hatching season. Australia has aggressive birds.
