Two walks and two national parks for the price of one here, easily accessible in southern Sydney. Not really a views walk, there are instead a number of picturesque pools on this long circuit walk, most of them swimmable in warm weather, and on the day I took these pictures there were some very healthy Gymea Lilies in flower. You can walk between Heathcote and Waterfall train stations as one way walks with a return trip by train.
Track Notes
We walked from Heathcote station to Waterfall station in the Royal National Park via Karloo Pools and the Uloola Track, then back to Heathcote via Heathcote National Park along the Bulwarring Track and Pipeline Road. About 22km. This combines a few possible day walks into one long walk, and can be pieced together from track notes in the guidebook A Day in the Bush. The first half is also described here, and the second half here, both links to the website Wildwalks. Either half can be done one-way using the train for the return journey, and we’ve done those a few times before, but got a bit energetic on this day.

Just a few photos, including just a couple of the pools…
